We have welcomed a few new board members to help us as we grow and continue to carry out our mission to help Baltimore County students in need.
Â
Meet our new member-at-large, Shalini Morgan!
Â
Not only is Shalini a BCPS alum, she has also served the BCPS community for 30 years as a science teacher. During this time, Shalini took on various roles that contributed to equity and improvement in the system. We asked Shalini a few questions so our community could get to know her a little better:
Â
What are you currently reading? “Last Day” by Luanne Rice. I love murder mysteries!
Â
Best school related memory? It’s more as a teacher than a student. Chesapeake Bay field trips were the best…the kids learned so much with experiences they would have never had in their lives.
Â
Favorite sports team? Baltimore Ravens!!
Â
What inspired you to join the Network’s board? Making a difference in a student’s life…one school at a time…one child at a time. When I taught school, I used to buy school supplies for my students because their parents couldn’t or kids didn’t feel comfortable asking. All supplies should be available for students in a school!
