Baltimore County agreed to provide additional funds to cover eligible 5 and 6 year-olds, meaning 2,000 MORE children living in extreme poverty will receive additional food assistance this summer. Now, a total of 30,205 Baltimore County children will have fuller bellies, and therefore less stress, when school is closed and food insecurity is at its worst.
We want to thank County Executive John Olszewski Jr and his team for responding to our advocacy committee’s request to invest an additional $100 per child to benefit our County’s youngest students, regardless of the State of Maryland providing matching funds.
