Light Up The Night For The Network: A Community Food Drive

As the seasons change and the weather turns cooler, many of us enjoy the comfort of warm meals and cozy evenings. However, for some families in our community, this time of year can be challenging. In Baltimore County, many children face food insecurity and rely on school meals as their primary source of nutrition.

You can help the Student Support Network get more food to students in need and their families during the holiday season by encouraging your neighborhood, community organizations, or houses of worship to organize a drive with luminary bags!

To weigh down the luminary bag, just put a can of food in the bag when they are distributed around for the event. We had huge success in the Chatterleigh neighborhood with this drive last year—people loved it!

Want to organize a drive, or know someone in your community that might be interested? Please contact us to learn more about how you can get involved. You may reach out to our Community Coordinator, Sara Waire at sara@studentsupportnetwork.org
