Donations Of Period Products Given In Honor Of World Menstrual Hygiene Day

In honor of #WorldMenstrualHygieneDay, our Period Project Volunteer, Phoebe, accepted large donations of period supplies for our Rooms of Support! The Baltimore County Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Bcacdst1984, was kind to us again this year with their donation of products in Cycle Bags for girls to easily grab at school.

We were also impressed with Network School student, Willa, who used her bat mitzvah project as an opportunity to collect and donate over 11,000 period products to us! WOW!

A 2021 study by Kotex, found that 2 out of every 5 females have struggled to afford period products, a 35% increase from 2018; These girls and women miss out on educational, social, and job opportunities every month. Donations like these help us eliminate this barrier for our Network schools girls and young women!

If you or your community group is interested in packing up supplies into grab-and-go Cycle Bags for our Network schools, please reach out at contactus@studentsupportnetwork.org. This is a great way for a group of friends to socialize while earning service learning hours!
